Abstract (EN)
In this study, which aims to compare the effects on the vocal cord function and sound parameters of not applying the protocoles of intermittent and continuous monitorization of the vagus and recurrent larengeal nerves during the tirodetomi operation, the preoperative and postoperative evalutations of patients who are monitorized with both protocoles and are not monitorized are comperatively studied and its consistency with the contemperary literature is discussed. Intraoperative nervous monitorization is a tecnique that is proven to be safe with large series and is routinely started to be used for protecting the recurrent nerve. In our study, it was tried to show the effects of the intermittent monitarization, which is used by many centers, and the continuous monitorization, which is used by a limitd number of centers for now, and no superiority of either method was found despite the small number of patients. The continous monitorization is shown to be safe for vocal cord functions, phonation, and systemic side-efects. It would be suitable that the findings of this study is supported with larger population series.
