Abstract (EN)

This thesis focuses on the alienation of humanity from nature in the realm of visual arts. Rapid technological advancements, industrialization, and environmental changes in modern societies are progressively weakening the organic connection between humans and nature. In this context, the main objective of the study is to comprehend how the field of visual arts responds to this process of alienation. The alienation process has deeply manifested itself in the works of painters, guiding them to depict the loss of connection with nature through metaphors, symbols, and contrasts. Themes such as modern urbanization, industrial landscapes, technological dependency, and natural resource depletion frequently emerge on painters' palettes. Furthermore, this study examines how these representations of alienation in the visual arts evoke impressions and influence the emotions and thoughts of viewers. Understanding the alienation process, questioning the relationship between humans and nature, and fostering empathy through the paintings that emerge during this process constitute the key focal points of the thesis. In conclusion, the alienation of humanity from nature in the realm of visual arts has been concretized through artists' aesthetic expressions and critical approaches, providing viewers with a thought-provoking perspective on the depth of the human-nature relationship.
