Abstract (EN)

One of the areas in which Roman law has influenced modern law is the law of property. During the classical law period, the institutions and rules of property law were laid down and these rules have survived until today. Although there is a difference in terms of immovables since the land registry was not known in Rome, many rules regarding movables are derived from Roman law. Although some of the distinctions used in the classification of goods have disappeared, many distinctions that find application today, such as movable/immovable property and tangible/intangible property, are also analysed in Roman law. In addition to these, it is seen in the sources of Roman law that the concepts of accessory and fruits were also analysed by Roman jurists. The concept of component part was analysed within the concept of adhesion, which was one of the ways of original acquisition of ownership in Rome. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the rules and principles regarding the concept of property in Roman law and to shed light on the concept of property in modern law.
