Abstract (EN)

This thesis investigates the general characteristics of the oil market, the importance of energy in the economy, and the role of oil in global trade. Subsequently, it examines the historical context of Russia-Ukraine relations and the economic implications of the conflict. Russia's economy relies significantly on oil, with petroleum serving as a crucial component. Consequently, fluctuations in oil prices have a profound impact on Russia's economic situation, as petroleum revenues constitute a substantial portion of the state budget. Therefore, tensions and conflicts in Russia-Ukraine relations significantly affect Russia's position in the oil market and its overall economic condition. Ukraine, on the other hand, is heavily dependent on Russia for its energy needs and serves as a vital transit route for oil and natural gas to Europe. Thus, tensions in Russia-Ukraine relations have profound economic implications for Ukraine, including decreased industrial output, infrastructure damage, and adverse effects on foreign trade. In conclusion, fluctuations in oil prices have significant implications for Russia-Ukraine relations and the economies of both countries. This underscores the extensive ramifications of geopolitical tensions and conflicts on the global economy. Therefore, stability and diplomacy in international relations are essential, and efforts to prevent conflicts in the trade and transit of energy resources are crucial.
