Abstract (EN)

Our dissertation is designed on a syntactic comparison of Turkish and Azerbaijani, on the basis of the novels "Ciğerdelen" by Safiye Erol and "Dali Kur" by Ismayil Shikhli. The introduction section includes the purpose, topic, method, content, and limitations of the research; literature review, summaries of "Dali Kur" and "Ciğerdelen"; information on syntax, Safiye Erol, Ismayil Shikhli and their mentioned novels. Then Safiye Erol's and İsmail Shikhli's literary identities are discussed and explanations regarding "Dali Kur" and "Ciğerdelen" are made. The analysis section composed of phrase and sentence types. phrases were examined, samples have been selected from the novels, and then Azerbaijani and Turkish are compared with each other. Firstly, under the heading of sentence elements, the predicate, subject, direct object, indirect object and adverbial clauses are clarified. In this section, the phrases and sentence types in "Dali Kur" and "Ciğerdelen" are shown by quoting from the novels. Then, the sentence types were examined under the subheadings, according to their meanings, structures, the order of the predicate, the type of predicate, selected examples from the works were described, Azerbaijani and Turkish are compared with each other. The findings are presented in the conclusion section. The sentence types, the word groups, most frequently used sentence types and most frequently used word groups in the novels are specified.
