Abstract (EN)
This study is a conservation and rehabilitation proposal on an environmental basis regarding of conservation of the traditional building texture of Yörük Village, bounded to Safranbolu, Karabük. The main goal of the study is to define the general characteristics, determine the historical and architectural values, and examine conversation and rehabilitation possibilities of the settlement texture in order to transfer it to the next generation. The study consists of six chapters. After an introduction, the physical, historical, social, economical, and architectural characteristics of Yörük Village are analyzed in general in the second chapter. In the following chapter, the traditional buildings of the village are examined with respect to their architectural characteristics. In the fourth chapter, the evaluation of the buildings is given in detail according to their potentials and problems. The fifth chapter covers the principles, decisions, and proposals regarding the future utilization of the area in the scope of conservation and rehabilitation.
