Abstract (EN)

In this study, the predictive effect of early maladaptive schemas, perceived social support and stress coping strategies on burnout levels of health workers were investigated. The research was carried out on 226 health workers between 19-64 years of age working at Istanbul Mehmet Akif Ersoy Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital. 63 male and 163 female health workers participated in the study voluntarily. Personal information form, Burnout Scale, Stress Coping Strategies Scale, Multidimensional Perceived Social Support scale and Young Schema Scale Short Form-3 were used to obtain research findings. SPSS 24 was used for data analysis. As a result of the correlation analysis performed; there is a positive moderate corelation between emotional exhaustion schema area and social isolation and impaired autonomy schema. There is a moderate positive correlation between mental exhaustion and social isolation schema subdimension, disconnected schema and impaired autonomy schema areas. There is a moderate positive correlation between physical exhaustion and social isolation schema. There is a moderate positive correlation between burnout and disconnected schema area, social isolation schema subdimension and impaired autonomy schema areas. There is a moderate negative correlation between the social support family subdimension and emotional deprivation schema and disconnected schema area. There is a moderate negative correlation between social support friend subdimension and emotional deprivation, social isolation, disconnected schemas and abandonment schema area. A hierarchical regression model was used to measure the predictive effect of the variables in the study on burnout. As a result of the analysis, the variable with the highest burnout predictor ratio was found to be early maladaptive schemas. Among the early maladaptive schemas, the highest predictive negative effect area was found to be the unrelenting schema area. In other words, it can be stated that as the unrelenting standarts schema area increases, burnout rate decreases.
