Outbreak management and local governments: İskenderun district an example of combating COVID-19 outbreak

Many epidemic diseases have been experienced in human history and continue to be experienced. Plague, cholera, chickenpox, and flu outbreaks are among the best known. Millions of people died in the epidemics. Various health policies have been produced to combat epidemics from the past to the present. One of these epidemic diseases is Covid-19, which is experienced today. The Covid-19 Outbreak occurred in the People's Republic of China in late 2019. It spread rapidly all over the world in a short time. In this study, the measures and studies taken against the Covid-19 Outbreak in Iskenderun district were discussed. The purpose of this study is to be a new research subject. What Covid-19 measures are in local health policies has been examined. Interviews were conducted with relevant and authorized institutions and organizations in Iskenderun County using the qualitative research method. In these interviews, questions were asked about the studies, activities and measures taken during the Covid-19 outbreak process. The information obtained here was combined into a composition and a whole was formed. In addition, the internet sites of relevant, authorized public institutions and organizations in Iskenderun were followed and updated information was added to the study.
