Abstract (EN)

There are course of events where the changes and transformations of the societies have experienced throughout the periods are read. While the society transforms and changes both its language and its field of expression also change. The words of the language reflect the society. Just as Turkish underwent a transformation with the acceptance of Islam by the Turkish tribes; it was also influenced by Western languages, especially French, in the Westernization movement that reached its clearest appearance in the 19th century. The word "saloon" has brought the West, the social life of the West, to Türkiye. Women and men in the harem-selam apartments started to have conversations in the saloon. The saloon also had a privileged position in the decoration and furnishing of the houses. The Second World War, which accelerated the Westernization of Türkiye, and afterwards, the country turned its direction completely to Western civilization. "The Salon magazine" published between 1947-1950, created a field where this tendency could be observed, starting with its name, with the topics it covered and the people it highlighted Social life, concerts, dance, foreign artists visits to the country and news from the Hollywood cinema were in this field. Besides culture, art and cinema news, more than half of the volume of the Salon magazine contained literary products. Due to the personal friendship of the owner of the magazine, Ramiz Gökçe, and his being an important caricaturist of the magazines published between 1920-1950, many prominent names of the period had their works published in the magazine. Many works, especially poetry, stories, conversations, essays, interviews, travel writings, etc. were published in the Salon. With the introduction of the Salon magazine to literature, it would possible to re-interpret the period between 1945-1950 in Turkish literature. It would also be possible to reveal the changes in the lives and art of some writers who produced works in the classical Turkish literature style before the Republic and whose understanding changed in the early periods of the Republic, and the changes in the last period of their art will provide a new perspective in evaluating these artists.
