The examination of home accessory programme at girls? vocational school in Samsun

The broad objectives of the research are ; the examination of home accessory programme studied at handicrafts departments of Girls? Vocational Schools, the research of home accessory in terms of its aesthetic aspect, the determination of the expectations of the students studying there and their thoughts on the programme.The target population of the study is the students studying home accessory at Girls? Vocational Schol in Samsun in 2010-2011 Academic year. Randomly Chosen 60 students form the sample of the study.After the survey results computerized, Microsoft Excel and Spss 16 programs were used for statistical analyses.Using Microsoft Excel and Spss 16 programs, frequency (f) and percentile (%) were calculated and showed on table. The tables were commented according to the datum obtained from the findings.According to the survey results it is seen that all of the students attend the home accessory classes eagerly and the `flower arrangement? is the best-loved subjects for them.It was observed that among the written sources, they mostly use decoration magazines, they use mange during the programme and also complain about the technologically inadequacy of the equipment and supplies.It was found that material acquisition is done as bulk purchase by the teachers and generally they have problems in procurement of the materials.It is possible to say that during the programme they use their ingenuity and their productions are similar to the ones sold in the market. Their productions are mostly draw interest out of the school. They can also exhibit or sell them.For students, in order to be attuned to the market, it was suggested that there must be a continuous improvement of the programme objective.At the end of the study, researcher?s suggestions -built on the problems- were stated.
