Abstract (EN)

This thesis examines the relationship between photography and painting by exploring the components of both art forms. The transformation of photography from a simple means of self-expression to a widely accessible art form is discussed. The convergence of artistic languages as well as the aesthetic and technical elements of photography and painting, is analyzed to reveal how these two disciplines have influenced and enriched each other. Chapter of Subject assesses the subjective perspectives and cultural meanings in both photography and painting. It explores why photography is sometimes referred to as "painting" and analyzes the concepts of reality in painting and the relationships between photography and painting. Photography's attempt to achieve a painterly style is also discussed within this context. The Form chapter delves into the aesthetic components of photography and painting, such as visual perception, space, light, composition, color, dynamism, and technical elements. It especially addresses the development of techniques like Camera Obscura and examines how the aesthetic qualities of photography have evolved under the influence of painting. Last section investigates the process of artistic creation, how emotional states are translated into artistic language, and how the artist's inner world impacts their works. Photography's role as a medium for artistic expression beyond mere image recording is explored. Additionally, photography and painting are compared in terms of their cultural, social, and aesthetic values.
