Energy efficiency study project and case analysis in industry

Energy demand is growing with increasing world population, industrialization and welfare of the society. Effective and efficient use of energy is vitally important accordingly the researches show the next nearest point of exhaustion of fossil fuels in the future. The energy efficiency studies be done according to established standards is extremely important in energy-hungry industries. In this study, the energy efficiency studies in energy-consuming machinery and equipment in the Upfield margarine factory located in Trakya described and accomplishing an energy efficiency project which is effective for businesses is aimed. Firstly the parameters in machinery and equipment cause needles consumptions of energy are determined by measurements. Energy consumptions and costs in current situation are calculated. Machines and equipment for energy efficiency-enhancing measures have been identified. As a result of the studies, it has been an annual savings of 7.690.553,23 TL in business. Considering the costs of business investment for surveying, the payback period is approximately 18 months as has been demonstrated.
