Abstract (EN)

This study sought to identify how school feeding programs might effectively tackle the nutritional and educational needs of children in northwest Syria, with a view of exploring the feasibility of such programs and informing future implementation in the studied areas. The study explored the potential impacts of School Feeding Programmes (SFP) on nutrition, health, and education outcomes of school-aged children in northwest Syria. The study identified locally driven program planning as a key element to responding to these emergency-related implementation challenges. Here, implementing agency(s) should be able to clearly articulate and consider the specific comparative advantages of SFP, as well as manage all associated challenges/risks. Consequently, the SFP must be properly aligned with education sector support programs.
