Comparison of city hospitals in terms of health tourism

Aim: This study was conducted to compare city hospitals in terms of health tourism. Method: In this study, which was conducted to compare city hospitals in terms of health tourism, both document review and case study methods were used. The sample of the study consists of 15 personnel working in city hospitals determined according to the criterion sampling technique. Semi-structured interview form and documents were used to collect the data obtained within the scope of the study. After obtaining ethical permission for data collection, data were collected until November. The data within the scope of this study were collected through interviews from 15 personnel working in 6 city hospitals located in different regions, which have a health tourism unit. The data that emerged from the interviews were analyzed with descriptive analysis. Findings: The opinions of the participants on the management structure and functioning of the health tourism unit were gathered under the title of "unit management structure and operation are carried out according to the relevant legislation". The opinions of the participants regarding the activities carried out for the promotion of the health tourism unit of the city hospitals stated that promotional activities were carried out on the participant website from each city hospital. It has been found that surgical departments/branches (general surgery, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, pediatric surgery, cardiovascular), eye and orthopedic outpatient clinics are preferred in all city hospitals within the scope of health tourism. It was observed that there was no intermediary agency in all of the six city hospitals examined within the scope of the study. Conclusion: When city hospitals are compared in terms of health tourism; The current situation of city hospitals, their future goals and problems encountered are presented under the titles. When these titles are examined, it has been concluded that the conditions of city hospitals are generally gathered under the same titles. Keywords: City Hospitals, Comparison, Health, Tourism.
