Abstract (EN)

In this study, molecularly imprinted paper (Whatman No 1) surfaces were prepared for determination of propranolol that is a pharmaceutical active substance in synthetic blood samples. For this purpose, paper surfaces were first modified with a reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agent. Molecular imprinting was then carried out by placing the paper surfaces in a solution containing N-acryloyl-L-phenylalanine (NAPAL, monomer), methylene bisacrylamide (MBAAm), propranolol (template molecule), azobis isobutyronitrile (AIBN, initiator). The maximum adsorption capacity for propranol was determined to be 64.3 mg/g on the molecularly imprinted paper surfaces. The optimum polymerization time, the propranolol / NAPAL ratio, and the polymerization temperature were determined 8 hours, 1 and 60 ° C, respectively for reaching the maximum adsorption capacity. A mixture of methanol: acetic acid (5: 1, v / v) was chosen as the most suitable solvent mixture to efficiently remove the template molecule from the polymer layer. It has been shown that selectivity studies with propranolol-like molecule (atenolol and pindolol) have been conducted and that paper surfaces are highly selective for propranolol. It has been shown that propranolol can be determined in synthetic blood with very high recovery rates (97.0 % - 99.7 %) and low relative standard deviation (3.78 % - 4.92 %) by using molecularly impregnated paper surfaces.
