Assessment of Selçuk Baran's novels and stories

Selçuk Baran, was born on 7th March 1933 in Ankara and died on 4th November 1999 in Ankara. She graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law with a high level degree. Her first short story "Çocuğun Biri" was published in Yeditepe Journal in 1968. She published her short stories in Türk Dili, Oluşum ve Argos journals. She created imaginary and poetic atmosphere in her stories full of loneliness and despair. In 1973 she won the prize ?TDK Öykü Ödülü? with her story book named ?Haziran?. Her novel named ?Bir Solgun Adam? got an honorable mention in 1974 in the contest of ?Milliyet Yayınları Roman Yarışması?. With her story book named ?Anaların Hakkı?, she shared the prize ?Sait Faik Hikâye Armağanı" with Adnan Özyalçıner in 1978. She got an honorable mention with her novel ?Bozkır Çiçekleri? in the contest of ?Milliyet Yayınları Roman Yarışması? in 1979.This thesis has been built up from other works dealing with Selçuk Baran?s life, art and works.
