Abstract (EN)

Selçuk University's Alaeddin Keykubat Campus covers an area of 800 hectares within the Irano-Turanian floristic region, located within the C4 grid system of Davis. In this study, pollen from 31 trees known to cause allergic reactions in humans within the Alaeddin Keykubat Campus was analyzed using light and scanning electron microscopy. Samples collected from the campus were dried using common herbarium techniques and prepared as herbarium specimens. Pollen grains were obtained from the anthers of the flowers or cones of these specimens, and microphotographs were taken using light and scanning electron microscopy. Detailed palynological analyses of each tree's pollen were conducted. Cedrus deodara, Robinia hispida, Fraxinus excelsior, and Ailanthus altissima were determined to be the most abundant species in the campus area. Of these species, Fraxinus excelsior has a very high allergenic effect, Ailanthus altissima has a high allergenic effect, Cedrus deodara has a moderate allergenic effect, and Robinia hispida has a low allergenic effect. The Pinaceae family was identified as the family containing trees with allergenic pollen. Furthermore, orbicular measurements were used to distinguish the pollen of Cupressus arizonica, Thuja occidentalis, Platycladus orientalis, Juniperus excelsa, and Calocedrus decurrens from the Cupressecaeae family. Detailed palynological data on the species' pollen grains are presented in tables. Consequently, a list of the allergenic trees located on the Alaeddin Keykubat Campus, their distribution areas within the campus, and data on their pollen analysis were obtained.
