Art and therapy for ceramic applications

The process of art making and the ability of ones expressing oneself through this process arose the importance of art making to be used in therapeutic environments. This paper aims to analyze the use of ceramic applications in art therapy. The ability of expressing the emotions through clay-work and the correlations between the psychoteraphy and art therapy is studied. The core features of the clay-work is mentioned and is linked to various processes: the process of ones expression though touching, the process of constructing and deconstructing, and the process of regression. This paper emphasizes and differentiantes ways of expression such that: revealing the unconscious of one through clay-work, facilitating catharsis and verbal communications, and the concretization through the conceptual aspects of the clay-works.
