Abstract (EN)

INVESTIGATION OF SUBFATIN AND ASPROSIN EXPRESSIONS BY IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL AND ELISA METHOD IN SEROUS OVARIAN TUMORS In ovarian cancer, serous carcinoma is more important among gynecological cancers due to its rapid course. Ovarian cancer is in the top 5 in cancer-related deaths considering mortality rates. The lack of an accepted method of early diagnosis is one of the most important causes of mortality. More than half of the epithelial ovarian tumors are formed by Serous Ovarian Tumors. According to the proliferation and atypia of the epithelium, there are 3 groups as benign, borderline and malignant. The most commonly used method in diagnosis are pelvic examination, transvaginal USG and serum CA-125 values. There is no known cheap, safe and simple screening method for ovarian cancer. Cancer cells; It is known to be closely related to immunological factors, inflammation, glucose metabolism, thermo regulation, apoptosis. Therefore, we have associated cancer with asprosin, which plays a role in rapid glucose release, apoptosis and inflammatory mechanisms. On the other hand, we also investigated Meteorin-like protein's role in cancer. Metrnl (Meteorin-like protein / subfatin) is a glucogenic peptide such as asprosin. Glucose is an energy source for all living creatures. Cancer cells use glucose more than healthy cells due to rapid mitosis. We investigated how the fate of subfatin and asprosin, which regulate glucose metabolism and which has not been studied in this direction before, has changed in the Serous Overian Tumors by Immunohistochemical and ELISA method. As a result, we found that asprosin and subfatin decreased significantly in cancer group compared to other groups. Subfatin and asprosin mediate the metabolic control of malignant transformation. This study suggests that subfatin and asprosin play important roles in cancer physiopathology in serous ovarian tumors. These data will bring up the idea that asprosin and subfatin may be tumor markers, lead differentiation between different cancer groups and lead the differential diagnosis, and perhaps use for therapeutic purposes.
