Abstract (EN)
According to WHO's definition, being healthy is not just the absence of injury or disease. Being healthy and feeling comfortable in terms of physical, mental and social life is also within the scope of health. One of the factors that negatively affect human health is noise pollution. The effects of noise pollution on human and environmental health should be controlled. Within the scope of this thesis, studies were carried out on the prevention of noise pollution at the building and city scale. In the content of the thesis, the building elements were examined and their sound absorption properties were explained in order to prevent noise. In addition, sound absorbing devices used in building and urban design to prevent noise are explained. Among the sound absorbing materials described in the thesis, a separate title has been opened for boron and bamboo. It is explained how boron, which is one of the most abundant minerals in our country, is used in terms of sound insulation. Bamboo is also defined and information about the use of bamboo as a building element and sound absorbing material has been conveyed.
