Abstract (EN)
This study comprises geological and geochemical studies of hydrothermal alteration observed near Manisa-Demirci-Sevinçler village in which MTA has been conducting a project since from 2007 in the context of ?Polymetallic ore deposit researches of Western Anatolia? around Sevinçler-Demirci (Manisa). The study area, located on the northern part of Menderes Massive, is within the Kütahya J21-d3 map sheet. In the study area, from oldest to youngest, pre-Paleozoic aged Kalkan Formation, uncomformably overlying Triassic-Jurassic aged Budağan limestones, Miocene aged sedimentary units and overlying the same aged Akdağ volcanics. Cross-cutting relations can not be observed between these volcanics and adjacent rock units. Youngest units in the field is Quaternary aged alluvium. Hydrothermal alteration is restricted to tectonic zones contacts and is represented by silification and argillization. As a result of geochemical prospecting carried out by collecting systematically soil samples, elevated As and Sb contents were detected. In some samples Au and Ag values accompany with these elements. Silification has led to distinctive replacement texture of the limestones. Crustiform textures, quartz-calcite vein/veinlets in the form of network, brecciated structures the presence of pyrite-chalcopyrite minerals and also hydrothermal alteration patterns may indicate epitermal type mineralization in the sevinçler field.
