Abstract (EN)
In this research, Seyyid Ahmet Arvasi's views on the relations between religion and society are analyzed. For Seyyid Ahmet Arvasi, it is a negative situation that in the West, which is the center of Christianity, the secularism and hedonism-based lifestyle, which has continued to increase its influence until today with the wind of some social and scientific transformations led by the West with the effect of the domination order established by the church fathers in the Middle Ages on the people, has gradually distanced humanity from the concept of religion. Seyyid Ahmet Arvasi argues that the perception of culture and civilization, urbanization, lifestyle, family structure, social order and system of values that have developed over time in geographies that have been the source of many religions and belief systems on a local and global basis and where Muslims have been the majority since time immemorial, have basically been formed under the influence of religion and belief. He believes that the Muslim population in these regions, which have witnessed the passage of many civilizations in history, and Muslims all over the world should be in unity and solidarity and continue to strengthen their interaction with religion. According to Seyyid Ahmet Arvasi, the rise and strengthening of Islamic society depends on modern breakthroughs to be realized in the light of these values. According to Seyyid Ahmet Arvasi, Turkish society, like every other society, has gone through different historical processes and accordingly acquired different cultural and civilizational accumulations. Therefore, it is wrong to try to transfer the sociological analyses and analyzes of different societies, especially those originating from the West, to Turkish society. Seyyid Ahmet Arvasi argues that Turkishness and Islam are not opposing concepts. According to Arvasi, if Turkish society clings to its national values along with the principles set forth by Islam, as it has done in history, and if it can raise young and enlightened generations with this sensitivity, it will become stronger again and will be able to set an example of civilization that will be a hope for all humanity, especially the Turkish-Islamic geography. Seyyid Ahmet Arvasi conceptualized and idealized his ideas in this direction as "Turkish Islamic Ideology".
