Abstract (EN)
Theoretical and experimental studies concerning the behavior of soils under dynamic effects revealed that, soil type and physical properties have a remarkable effect, along with the loading conditions. Unlike other soil types, under cyclic loading, silty sands show a different behavior with fines effects. Due to low drainage conditions during rapid earthquake loading, the strength behavior of silty sands is severely affected. For this purpose, in order to investigate the dynamic behavior of saturated silty sands under cyclic loading, it is generally preferred to conduct consolidated undrained cyclic tests under laboratory conditions. In this scope of this study, the dynamic behavior of saturated non-plastic silty sands and low plasticity silty sands were investigated by conducting cyclic triaxial tests under undrained conditions, certain stress conditions and cyclic loading. The experimental setup enables to determine the stress-strain and strength properties under substantially different conditions (CSR, isotropic consolidation, strain amplitude, frequency etc.). The studies carried out for this purpose includes experiments carried out on reconstituted specimens on non-plastic silty sands and silty sands of low plasticity, under certain loading conditions.
