A research to determine correlation between systolic heart failure and levels of toll like receptor-5 and NT-probnp

Were researched levels of NT-proBNP and toll like receptor-5 and correlations between them in patients with systolic heart failure. Heart failure is a clinical syndrome in which an abnormality of cardiac structure or function is responsible for the inability of the heart to eject blood with the required amount to body tissues. Congestive heart failure is a main public health problem today and it usually associated with high morbidity and mortality. The plasma levels of both NT-ProBNP and TLR-5 are significantly higher in patients with congestif heart failure than normal individuals. But there is no definite correlation between plasma levels of NT-ProBNP and TLR-5 inpatients with congestive heart failure. The high level plasma TLR-5 is of prognostic value independent from the plasma NT-ProBNP levels, in these patients. As a conclusion, according to recent studies, the high plasma levels of NT-ProBNP and TLR-5 are maintly associated with high mortality and longer hospitalisation rate in induviduals with heart failure. Therefore, the higher is plasma levels of markers such as TLR-5 and NT-ProBNP, the worse is the over all prognosis in these patients. NT- ProBNP and TLR-5 are thought to be the cheapest and the most appropriate marker to be determined. Key words: Systolic Heart Failure, NT-proBNP, TLR-5, Level
