Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine environmental factors on the milk yield and composition, reproductive characteristics and some behaviour parameters obtained from the animals raised in Dairy Unit of Çukurova University Agricultural Research and Application Farm. The effects of birth month, year and season on the age of first insemination and the age of first calving were significant (P<0.05). The effects of month, year and season of calving on first calving age, number of insemination per conception and gestation length were also significant (P<0.05). In terms of milk composition, the effects of oestrous on dry matter (P<0.10) and fat (P<0.05) were significant in cool condition, while milk fat (P<0.1) and free fatty acid level (P<0.01) were affected in hot condition. The effects of cool and hot conditions were found to be significant on eating (P<0.05); standing (P<0.01), resting (P<0.01), locomotion (P<0.05) and oestrous behaviour (P<0.01).
