An analysis of Prophet Muhammad's leadership training according to sirah nabawiyyah

This study examines the leadership training approaches of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) towards young companions and children, investigating how this model can serve as a resource for cultivating effective young leaders in contemporary societies. Structured as a qualitative research, the study analyzes the Prophet's leadership characteristics, educational methods, and their contributions to the development of leadership qualities among his companions, based on sirah sources and hadith literature. The research reveals that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) established his leadership approach on fundamental principles such as compassion, consultation (shura), humility, and leading by example. The findings indicate that he developed leadership skills in young companions through gradual assignment of responsibilities, while boosting their self-confidence through delegation and empowerment strategies. Furthermore, by employing participatory decision-making mechanisms, he encouraged free expression of ideas, thereby nurturing them as future leaders. The study emphasizes the compatibility of the Prophetic model with contemporary leadership education. Specific recommendations include: early assignment of responsibilities to students in educational institutions, training of exemplary teachers, and incorporation of ethical leadership courses into curricula. Additionally, it suggests increasing practical leadership experiences through student clubs and project management activities in schools. In conclusion, Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) leadership training model serves as a significant guide for developing decision-making skills, sense of responsibility, and community leadership capabilities in today's youth. The integration of this model into modern education systems would contribute to the cultivation of morally-grounded and competent leaders.
