According to the perceptions of the class teachers, the aplication of leadership styles of school principals

This aim of the study is to examine teachers' opinions on effect of leadership styles of school principals on school management. Parallel pattern mixed method was used. The sample of the study consisted of 295 classroom teachers. To collect qualitative data, semi-structured interview questions asked to 14 volunteer classroom teachers. The quantitative data in the study were collected using the "School Principals Leadership Style Scale". In order to clarify the reasons of the results, qualitative part was realized. Correlation analysis was performed to reveal the relationship between the dimensions obtained from quantitative data of the study. Independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA were used in the study. To be able to dtermine the statistically significant differences among dimensions ANOVA test, Tukey test was used. Content analysis was performed in the analysis of qualitative data. Themes were determined according to the data obtained from the teachers. Sub-codes were created according to these themes and the frequencies of the themes were determined. According to the results of the study, a school principal with a transformational leadership style can't reveal the style of a sustaining and liberating leadership style. It was determined that the school principals showed their transformational leadership style when the school recognition process was completed, but they adopted the sustainable leadership style as the duration of the school increases. It was concluded that the attitudes and behaviors of teachers, student and parent towards the instituonal structure were affected by the management style of the school principal.
