Abstract (EN)
In this master's thesis, quantum wells, quantum wires and quantum dots, which are low-dimensional structures formed by combining different types of semiconductors, were investigated. From these structures, a square-section finite quantum wire with impurity atom was selected and the effect of temperature was investigated. Semiconductor materials are materials that are between conductors and insulators in terms of electrical conductivity. The most important feature of these materials is that their conductivity can be changed by external factors. The best known and most used semiconductors are Si, Ge, Ga. Semiconductors are easily and cheaply obtained. Due to these features, they are materials that are frequently used in electronics, industry and industry. They are used in diodes, transistors, solar cells, sensor structures and optical devices. In finite quantum wire solutions, the time-independent Schrödinger equation was used for solutions. Analytical solutions of the Schrödinger equation in quantum mechanics are possible for a limited number of systems, Approximate solution methods were used for the Schrödinger equation, which could not be solved exactly, and the numerical solutions of the time-independent Schrödinger equation were solved by the Variational method. In finite square section quantum wires, electrons are confined in two dimensions and can move freely in only one dimension, and the potential barrier has a finite value. The movement of the electron is free in the z direction and limited in the x and y directions. In this thesis, from the solutions of the Schrödinger equation, the wave functions for the ground state are written and the energy of the confined electron in the square section finite quantum wire is found. The impurity atom effect in the finite quantum wire is investigated. The energy of the electron in the presence and absence of impurity atoms in the finite quantum wire is found and the binding energies are calculated. Finally, the dielectric constant ϵ_0 (T) and effective mass m^* (T) were recalculated depending on the temperature and these calculated values also affected the other parameters of the finite square wire. We observed that the Bohr radius CC and effective Rydberg energy 〖(a〗^*) also changed. (R^* ) table was made for these new values we found. This table and the binding energies are shown with figures in the last section of the thesis.
