Abstract (EN)
In this study, a system which enables the shock absorber, which is the most important part of the suspension system, to behave differently for different road conditions is aimed. In the experimental study, a new valve assembly is installed instead of the valve group inside the damper. The system was first designed in the Solidworks system and then produced as a prototype. The study was then analyzed by creating a quarter vehicle suspension model in Matlab Simulink program. In the first part of the study, the subject is introduced and examples from the existing literature studies on the subject are given. In the second chapter, the experimental method is introduced and the data obtained in the third chapter are presented. In the fourth section, the results obtained are interpreted. According to the results obtained, the data applied for active and passive suspension were compared. It is also concluded that the wheel spring constant and vehicle weight have an effect on the damping force. In this way, it has been found that active suspension gives better results than passive suspension. In the fifth and last part, the study was completed by giving suggestions.
