Abstract (EN)
Fast improvement pace in communication technology has impact on social life. Internet has the most impact within these. Fast penetration of internet and new web applications created a brand new media system which is called social media. The users of social media creates content and the information flow is not one way. Social media due to its popularity became very important for brands and corporations. Considering these, the impact of social media on society became a popular topic. In this research the progress of social media, contemporary use of it, social media applications and their impacts will be analysed and social media will be compared with traditional media in order to understand its impacts on individuals and society where the social media is extensively used. In this study, the notion of social media will be researched, social media agents and websites will be analyzed and their position in social media marketing and their effect will be mentioned. By analyzing the process of social and traditional media marketing, all the advantages and disadvantages will be covered. This study includes a situation analysis of how social media marketing operates, which methods are used, what are the effects of their use on the society and interviews with marketing professionals.
