Abstract (EN)
It is quite impossible for the firms to resist to the changes in every field of life including social dimensions. Social changes manipulate the expectations of the society. Increasing global problems as well as increasing economic and political power of the firms tends to change the expectations of the society. The society would like to see firms as institutions not only producing goods and services but also producing policies towards solving social problems of the society as corporate citizens. In this context, social responsibility consciousness is important as it meet the expectations and enhance the competitive advantage of the firm. The social responsibility consciousness of the firm also has the capacity to influence the performance of the employees. This dissertation aims at analysing whether social responsibility consciousness result in extra role behaviours of the employees (roles unplanned in job analyses) and organisational identification. This study consists of three parts: In the first part the dissertation the concept of social responsibility has been defined. In the second part the conceptual analysis, organisational citizenship behaviour and organizational identification, and also theoretical findings on the relationship between these values have been critically examined. At the last chapter, the results of empirical research on the impact of social responsibility on organizational identification and organizational citizenship behaviour have been analysed and findings were evaluated to reach the conclusions.
