The portrait of new woman in Aleksandra Kollontay's Love of Worker Bees in light of the gender politics of Soviet Russia in 1917-1924

In addition to being one of the issues that are still up-to-date and discussed today, the woman question is an issue that directly affects women's lives. Although different solutions have been tried to be provided to this problem for centuries in line with different approaches, one of the most important determinants of the position of women in a society is the ideology of the state. In this context, it is possible to say that Soviet Russia made various attempts to solve the women's problem from a Marxist perspective between 1917- 1924. However, literature is an important resource in terms of understanding the ideological structure of the period and the perspective of the society. At this point, A. Kollontay played a major role in the planning and implementation of Soviet Russia's practices and decisions for the solution of the women's problem. Kollontay, approached the women's problem from different perspectives before and during the Soviet period, by producing literary works as well as explaining her views and solution proposals on the 240 woman question in political texts. Thus, Kollontay reflected her ideal portrait of "new woman" in her literary works and used literature as a tool to guide and rebuild society. In this context, her trilogy named "Love of Worker Bees" is of great importance in contact Soviet women. In this study, the emergence of the women's movement and its changing process in the world and in Russia, and the achievements of women in Soviet Russia were discussed from different perspectives, and the new woman portrait in the "Love of Worker Bees" trilogy and the ways of using literature as a tool to guide and rebuild society were examined in light of Soviet Russia's policy towards the women's problem.
