Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to provide a new perspective on understanding the effects of feelings of inadequacy on learning motivation in greater depth. The population of the study consists of 1283 students from the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Firat University, while the sample size, determined through power analysis, includes 436 students. The data collection tool used in the study consists of three sections. The first section includes a personal information form, developed by the researcher, which aims to gather the participants' individual and demographic data. The second section includes the Feelings of Inadequacy Scale, while the third section features the Learning Motivation Scale for Higher Education. The percentages and frequency values of the data were determined, and t-tests were applied for pairwise comparisons, while ANOVA tests were used for multiple comparisons. The results of the "Linear Regression" tests were examined to assess the effect between the two scales. In conclusion, the students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences have a higher-than-average feeling of inadequacy, with an average score of 67.70, and a higher-than-average learning motivation, with an average score of 48.87. Gender has no significant effect on feelings of inadequacy or learning motivation. As students age, feelings of self-denial, perceiving themselves as inadequate, and learning goals increase. Students in the Coaching department report higher levels of feelings of inadequacy compared to students in other departments, though the department variable has no effect on learning motivation. First-year students experience more feelings of inadequacy, while third-year students exhibit higher motivation towards learning. It is observed that feelings of inadequacy have a low but positive impact on learning motivation. Keywords: Feelings of Inadequacy, Learning Motivation, Student, Sports Sciences
