Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the relationships between prosocial and antisocial behavior of students participating in sports courses and their coaches' perceptions of sportsmanship.Dec. The research was carried out with a descriptive correlational model and aimed to fill an important gap in the field of sports education. the sample of 305 participants consists of mostly male students with demographic diversity and individuals who work with male coaches. In the research, the effects of variables such as gender, branch, coach gender, duration of participation in sports course, duration of work with coach and participation in school team on students' behavior and coaches' perceptions of sportsmanship were examined. The measurement tools used in the research are tools whose validity and reliability have been proven in the literature. The findings obtained have revealed that the behavior of students participating in sports courses shows significant differences depending on certain factors. It was found that male students received higher scores on prosocial behavior towards their opponents, while female students received higher scores on antisocial behavior towards teammates and opponents. In addition, it was determined that the antisocial behavior scores of the students who worked with male coaches were higher. In the comparisons made between the branches, it was found that students who are interested in individual sports exhibit more antisocial behavior compared to those who do team sports. Dec. The students who took part in the school team, on the other hand, exhibited higher prosocial behaviors towards their teammates. Correlation analyses have revealed that the duration of participation in the sports course and the duration of working with the coach positively affect the prosocial behavior of students. In addition, it has been found that the duration of participation in sports courses and coach behavior have an impact on students' behavior, and coaches' punishment of unsportsmanlike behavior shapes students' behavior. These findings highlight the impact of sports education and coaches on student behavior.
