Determination of problem fields of managers who work as Youth and Sports District Manager under the General Directorate of Sports Services

This study was created to determine the problem areas of the managers working in the Provincial Directorates under the General Directorate of Sports Services and to put forward suggestions for solving the problems. It is aimed to increase the service quality to be provided to athletes, trainers and managers who benefit from District Directorates and units within the Directorate.Therefore, survey was conducted with 100 managers who works in provincial and district in Turkey. The findings obtained as a result of the interviews and literature researches were compared and comments were made. 99 Male and 1 Female personnel, who worked as the Youth and Sports District Manager and administrative staff of the General Directorate of Sports Services, participated in the study by completing the interviews and questionnaires. Participants were selected from among the staff of the Youth and Sports Provincial Directorates by simple sampling method, taking into account the voluntary criteria. In this research, one-to-one interviews were conducted using qualitative research method in order to determine the problem areas of the managers working in the Youth and Sports District Directorate under the General Directorate of Sports Services and to offer suggestions for solving the problems. A Personnel Information Form was prepared in order to collect various demographic information about the personnel in the research. This form includes variables such as age, gender, education level and working year of the personnel.Literature research will be done in the study and solutions will be offered by comparing with the data obtained in the study. As a result of the questionnaire and interviews, it was determined that the personnel working in the unit of the sports managers participating in the research did not have the desired qualifications and the activities were not sufficiently efficient. For this reason, it is thought that providing in-house training and vocational qualification training to the personnel may solve the problem. In recent years, it is seen that the employment of sports training experts, coaches, psychologists, dieticians, physiotherapists, masseurs who graduated from Physical Education and Sports Colleges and employed, make a big difference in the organization. Therefore it is necessary to increase the intake staff in these qualities.
