Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study was to examine the dart-throwing task and physiological stress responses exhibited under stress in terms of temperament types. The sample of this study consisted of 105 athletes aged between 18-35 who continued active sport activities or left active sports activities within maximum one year. We continued to work with the athletes (14 male, 12 female) who have temperament types that were frequent among the participants (Types 1, Types 9). Participants were asked to dart throw under both stressor and non-stressor conditions and skin conductivity, heart rate and heart rate variability values were recorded under both conditions. Participants exposed to negative sounds at the level of 75 decibels as stressor. When we was compared the stressor and non-stressor conditions dart throwing performance was increase under stressors conditions in Type 1 and Type 9 but there were not any difference statistically significant according to the non-stressor conditions. There was not any change in heart rate and heart rate variability values whereas there was a statistically significant difference in skin conductivity values increased statistically with respect to basal values both under stressed and non-stressed conditions in the Type 1 and Type 9. When was compared Type 1 and Type 9 temperaments, there were no statistically significant difference in average values of dart performance, skin conductivity, heart rate and heart rate variability in stressed and non-stressed situations. Athletes who have Type 1 and Type 9 temperament, there were no any difference in dart performance, heart rate and heart rate variability values while skin conductance values have increased positively under stress. As a result, Type 1 and Type 9 has similar physiological stress responses and similar performance outcomes, with or without the under stressor.
