Abstract (EN)

Our study requires a functional test to evaluate the risk of wrestling injuries in the literature. Therefore, it was aimed to develop a new test method to evaluate the injury risk specific to wrestling athletes. In the functional test method we have developed; First, an advisory board consisting of professionals involved in wrestling sports and wrestling injuries was established. The logical method, one of the test battery development methods, was used. In this regard, expert opinions were received face-to-face and via e-mail. Based on the advisory board opinions and literature knowledge, the Turkish Get-up movement was chosen as the draft action. Our test battery was completed step by step by revising it in line with the opinions of the advisory board and taking its final form, based on the literature. Since the new test battery is TG-based, it was named as Turkish get-up-based injury risk assessment analysis and with the abbreviation TG-A. In terms of reliability, Cronbach Alfa internal consistency parameter was analyzed for each sub-dimension and left-right TG-A scores. For scoring consistency, Kendall's adaptation W parameter was used while analyzing the consistency among the scores given by three different scorers. Validity of the battery was ensured by using face validity. FMS and Y balance test correlations were analyzed to understand the validity of battery scope. In order to determine the validity level, the difference between two wrestling styles were analyzed. Correlation tests were analyzed using Mann Whitney U tests. We were unable to determine a meaningful relation between FMS total score and TG-A total score for the left and right sides (p>0.05). We were also unable to determine a meaningful relation between Y balance total score and TG-A total score for the right and left sides (p>0.05). According to the group variable, the right F4 score differs whether it is on the Gr and Fr groups or not (p<0.05). Left F2, left F3, left F4, left F5 and total left score differs whether it is on the G and S groups or not (p<0.05). A significant difference has been spotted when TG-A test phases of left and right sides were compared among each other (p<0.05). TG-A total cutoff score was determined to be 72.814±6.553. Consistency parameters were rather reliable for the right and left measurements. It was determined that TG-A test had a "significantly reliable scope". In all phases of the scoring reliability TG-A, Kendall's coefficient of fit was found to be high (p<0.001). The test method we developed based on Turkish get up movement, which includes closed-open kinetic ring and similar to proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation movement patterns (PNF), is a valid and reliable method that can make injury risk assessment in wrestling athletes. In the future there is a need for studies in wrestlers with an injury history and in branches similar to wrestling.
