Abstract (EN)
Blockage or removal of the stellate ganglion is known to result in vasodilatation in these regions. Findings suggest that excessive sympathetic activity from established studies suppresses bone formation and promotes osteoclastic activity and that bone mineral density and content of reflex sympathetic dystrophy patients are low, that stellate ganglion blockade may reduce sympathetic activity and accelerate healing of dilatation resulting bone fractures in blood vessels feeding upper extremities, density and mineral content. In our study, it was aimed to investigate the possible effects of stellate ganglion blockade on fracture healing in rats. A total of 42 Winstar Albino female rats were used between December 2017 and March 2017 in our experimental study. The rats were randomly divided into 2 groups and one group was treated with Stellat ganglion and the other group was control group. In each of the 2 groups, a closed forearm fracture was created and the X-ray was displayed and then stabilized by splint application. The forearm bones, which received X-ray views on the same days, were then decalcified. After decalcification, results were scored by Department of Histology and Embryology When histological findings of the fracture region were taken into account, 7 (16.67%) were predominantly cartilage and less woven bone, 14 (33.33%) were equally distributed cartilage and immature bone, and 21 (50.00%) were predominantly of imitation bone and little cartilage formation. In the control group, the radiological evaluation of bone formation was found to be moderate (ƙ: 0,478) between the 1st and 2nd orthopedists (p: 0.001). Keywords; Stellate ganglion blockade, fracture healing, histology
