Abstract (EN)

The aim of the present study was to investigate the gill and skin bacterial flora of C.carpio and C.gariepinus comparatively between two fish farms in Karataş and Silifke receiving their waters from drainage channels and from ground waters respectively. Gill and skin bacterial samples were obtained under aseptic conditions and were brought to laboratory where they were incubated on McConcey. Identification of the colonies was carried out using Vitek2. The spring waters of Silifke station contained none of the bacteria species studied and E.cloacea was not found in the spring waters of Karataş station. The rearing pool waters of both stations contained A.sobria and E.cloacea while C.youngae was found only in pool waters of Karataş. No difference in bacterial flora of two stations was found except C.youngae found in Karataş Station. This difference can be explained by different types of feed used and by the different water qualities of the two stations studied. Key words: C.carpio, C.gariepinus, Bacteria
