Abstract (EN)

In our study, we focused on the life, personality, and hadith narrations of the companion Suhayb ibn Sinan, who became well-known as "Suhayb al-Rumi" due to being captured in the land of the Greeks. Following the evaluation of the hadiths in terms of their chain of narration (isnad) and content (matn), it is emphasized whether they have any impact on legal rulings (fiqh). Our study consists of two sections. In the first section, we gathered information about the life, personality, and death of the companion Suhayb al-Rumi, utilizing resources from Islamic history, hadith literature, biographies (siyar), biographical dictionaries (rijal), and other relevant texts. The second section, which represents the main objective of our work, identifies the hadiths narrated by Suhayb and conducts an analysis of their chains of narration (isnad). As a result of the research, it was determined that Suhayb narrated a total of 26 hadiths. Repeated hadiths are also included in the study. In the study, the hadiths narrated by Suhayb were classified and titled according to their subjects. An evaluation of the hadiths, including tahqiq (verification), criticism of the narrators (rijal), and the isnad (chain of narration) was also conducted. Besides, the commentaries and critiques related to the hadiths are also addressed in the study. In addition to all above, the degrees of accuracy of the hadiths narrated by Suhayb are analyzed. According to the analysis, it is revealed that 9 of the narrations are sahih (authentic), 1 is Hasan (good), and 16 are da'if (weak).
