Abstract (EN)

In this study, Reactive Black 5 textile dye and 5-Fluorouracil cancer drug active ingredient in aqueous solutions were removed by adsorption method using Kochia scoparia L. plant and bentonite clay. Conducted study, various modification processes were applied to the adsorbent substances. Determining the optimum conditions in the adsorption and modification processes, the adsorption process was investigated according to adsorption isotherm, adsorption kinetics and adsorption thermodynamics. Modification and adsorption processes are explained by applying TGA, FT-IR, BET, EDX, SEM, UV-vis. spectrophotometer analyses. It was calculated that; removal of Reactive Black 5 textile dye with modified activated carbon was 97.23% when the adsorption reached equilibrium at pH 2. It was stated that; adsorption isotherm corresponds to the Temkin isotherm, the adsorption kinetics conforms to the pseudo-second-order kinetic rate model, and the adsorption process is endothermic and does not occur spontaneously. It was calculated that; removal of 5-Fluorouracil cancer drug active ingredient by modified activated carbon was 66.24% when the adsorption reached equilibrium at pH 4. It was determined that; adsorption isotherm was consistent with the Langmuir isotherm, the adsorption kinetics was consistent with the pseudo-second-order kinetic rate model, and the adsorption process was endothermic and did not occur spontaneously. It was calculated that; removal of Reactive Black 5 textile dye with modified bentonite was 92% when the adsorption reached equilibrium at pH 2. It was understood that; adsorption isotherm was compatible with the Temkin isotherm, the adsorption kinetics was compatible with the pseudo-second-order kinetic rate model, and the adsorption process was endothermic and did not occur spontaneously. It was calculated that; removal of 5-Fluorouracil cancer drug active ingredient with modified bentonite was 51.21% when the adsorption reached equilibrium at pH 6. It was concluded that; adsorption isotherm was consistent with the Langmuir isotherm, the adsorption kinetics was consistent with the pseudo-second-order kinetic rate model, and the adsorption process was endothermic and did not occur spontaneously.
