Abstract (EN)
The Sumerians, whose origins and reasons for coming to this geography are not exactly known, were also the first people to make laws. The Sumerians, who came to the South of Mesopotamia in the 3500s BC and established ahigh civilization, have left a lot of information to the present day in terms of the belief systems, understanding of law, and social functioning. The Sumerians, who invented writing, recorded many aspects of their lives. The Sumerians, whose origins and reasons are not exactly known, were also the first people to make laws. The rights of men and women are also protected by these laws. There are differences in terms of punishment Between genders and crimes committed. The Sumerians, who adopted a common way of life, worked together in many areas, from canal construction to temple construction, etc. In order to ensure the stability of the social order, family unions are primarily provided through formal contracts. The Sumerians, who have a polytheistic belief, delineate gods and goddesses in human form by handling in their myths many situations that may bring benefit or harm in terms of society through the myths they have created. These people, who have a patriarchal social structure, have determined by gender are effective in family structure and professions.
