Abstract (EN)
The continuous advancements in technology for the welfare and comfort of people worldwide have also brought along environmental problems, which are considered the greatest threat to humanity. Thus, in the face of this growing threat, people have been involved in multiple essays trying to find defenetive solutions. Although, it seems that they have finally found the way back to nature by giving start to develop designs that mimic it. Biomimicry, known as the practice of emulating nature, includes the process of imitating sustainable and ecological secrets of nature in human-made designs. Hence, the discipline of Landscape Architecture which plays a bridging role integrating human-made architectural spaces with nature is directly related to biomimicry by taking into account both natural life and human comfort in its designs. In this study, beside raising awareness on biomimicry and its relationship with lansdcape architecture in the context of sustainable and ecological design approach, it is aimed to quantitatively clarify the status of academic studies related to these topics and provide guidance for researchers who will work in this field. For this purpose, bibliometric analyses were performed on data sets selected after progressive searches made in the Scopus database. The results of the study revealed that there are 1634 documents related to biomimicry, 210 documents related to biomimicry and sustainable and/or ecological design, and only 3 documents related to biomimicry, sustainable and ecological design, and Landscape Architecture. Besides this, findings on these bibliometrically analized collections such as the current status concerning the intensity of researches, the most influential authors, the most impactful publications, the most frequently used keywords, and other relevant topics has been presented.
