Abstract (EN)

After 2011, three important events occurred in Turkey that affected the country's domestic and foreign politics. These events are the Syrian civil war that started in 2011, the Gezi Park revolts in 2013 and the July 15 coup attempt in 2016. These three events directly affected the AK Parti government's domestic and foreign policy tendencies. One of the most important impacts was on Turkey-European Union relations. The aim of the study is to shed light on Turkey-EU relations through the current policies of the AK Parti government in these three cases and thus to analyze how the political approaches of the AK Parti government after 2011 have affected the EU accession process. The study analyzes the events in historical order and emphasizes "why" and "how" Turkey's current policies under the AK Parti government have affected Turkey's EU accession process. The case study method and comparative methodology are used to analyze the three events in separate chapters. The impact of these three events on Turkey-EU relations is analyzed through the European Commission's annual reports on Turkey. In addition to the impact of these three events on Turkey-EU relations, the question of whether there are similarities between the AK Parti's policies in these three events has also been sought through the preferred research methods.
