Molecular identification of Erwinia species and subspecies on ornamental plants

Abstract (EN)

In recent years, ornamental plants have economicly important contribitons to the grower?s and Turkey?s economyIn our country, production material has started to importation for the need to ornamental plants and as a result of a new fungal and bacterial diseases have been input to start.Cukurova University, Faculty of Agriculture, conducted under the project number TOVAG-106O333, the fourteen soft rot Erwinia isolates were obtained,from 8 different ornamental plant (Primula sp., Kalanchoe sp., Diffenbachia spp., Cactus sp., Yucca aloifolia, Ficus elastica, Schefflera actinophylla, Senecio cruentus) but which cause the diagnosis be made at the level of species and subspecies. Thi Master thesis, these isolates have been diagnosed at the level of species and subspecies by moleculer methods as PCR. At the study, the specific six primer sets (ADE1-ADE2, ERWFOR-CHRREV, ERWFOR-ATROREW, Y1-Y2, Y45-Y46 ve ECA1f-ECA2r) for Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica, Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora and Erwinia chrysanthemi were used. All tested isolates was found to Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora.
