Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effect of temperature on the adsorption of metanil yellow (MY)and methylene blue (MB) by sawdust was investigated. In addition, the surface acidity ofsawdust by dyestuff adsorption was also investigated.Kinetical data obtained at different temperatures for the adsorption of each dyestuffby sawdust were applied to Lagergren and Weber-Morris equations, and adsorptionrate constants and pore diffusion rate constants at these temperatures were determined,respectively. Adsorption rate constants related to MY and MB were applied toArrhenius equation, and activation energies related to the adsorptions of MY and MB onsawdust were determined.In addition, isothermal data obtained at different temperatures for the adsorptionof each dyestuff by sawdust were applied to thermodynamical equations, andthermodynamical parametres were determined.
