Abstract (EN)

Pain and delirium are very common conditions in intensive care patients. The improvement of intensive care conditions today leads to a decrease in mortality and at the same time, the length of stay in the intensive care unit. Many patients in intensive care units (ICU) feel pain even at rest in addition to invasive interventions for treatment. During this time spent in the intensive care unit, patients experience sleep problems due to the pain they feel. Therefore, insomnia also causes patients to have delirium attacks. The pain and delirium experienced by the patients during the intensive care unit adversely affect their compliance with the treatment and cause a delay in recovery. For this reason, it is recommended to use complementary and integrative methods in order to reduce the pain of patients and prevent delirium attacks during the intensive care process. In this study, it is aimed to examine and meta-analyze studies investigating the effect of complementary and integrative interventions on pain and delirium management in intensive care patients. Data Collection A data coding form will be created to obtain relevant data from the studies to be included in this systematic review and meta-analysis study. Detailed characteristics of the research will be recorded for each study examined in this form. Evaluation of Data In the evaluation of the data, the characteristics of the studies to be included in the research will be presented using descriptive statistics. Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software, su Meta-analysis will be performed using version 3.0 (Biostat Englewood, NJ). Standardized mean difference in assessments such as pain intensity and effect size of delirium duration, etc., odds ratio values will be calculated in assessments such as pain and delirium incidence. As a subgroup analysis, effect sizes will be calculated for outcome variables for individual interventions. As an additional analysis, a meta-analysis of variance will be used to analyze the difference in effect size between statistically significant individual interventions. Sensitivity analysis will be used to assess the impact of study quality and design on effect size integration. The bias in the studies will be examined with the funnel plot.
