Abstract (EN)
One of the most important elements of water architecture, fountains hold a significant place in human life. Throughout history, water has always been crucial for human existence. The fountains located in Konya were widely constructed during the Ottoman period following the Seljuk Era. Therefore, this study encompasses examples of fountain entablatures built during different periods of the Ottoman Empire and the Republic. This study examines fountain entablatures in the central districts of Konya, constructed in various periods. In the introduction, information is provided under the headings "Definition, Importance, and Scope of the Topic," "Methodology and Arrangement," "Related Publications and Research," and "Water Structures in Turkish Architecture." The first chapter includes subheadings regarding Konya's geographical location and history. The second chapter, titled "Entablatures in Historical Fountains of Konya," presents a catalog of fountain entablatures arranged chronologically from the oldest to the most recent. The location, construction date, patron, inscription, current condition, general description, and specific characteristics of the entablatures are defined and elaborated upon with photographs and drawings. The third chapter is the "Evaluation and Comparison" section. Under the heading "Typology," the fountain entablatures are categorized according to their forms and compared with examples from Anatolia and Istanbul. Under the heading "Depth," the depth measurements of seventy-six examined entablatures are provided. The "Dimensions" heading presents the widths and heights of the entablatures studied. Finally, under the heading "Decoration," the ornamentations observed on the fountain entablatures are evaluated through comparison with similar examples. The final chapter, "Conclusion," presents the findings and completes the study.
