Abstract (EN)

In this study, foundations of historical structures, construction techniques of these foundations, soil and foundation problems of historical buildings are emphasized and soil improvement methods for solving these problems are examined. Soil problems, which are the main reasons of the deformations of Yeni (Abdürrezzak Antaki) Mosque and Camili Köyü Mosque, have been investigated thoroughly. Soil improvement by using jet-grout method, applied to these restoration projects, is analysed. Furthermore, the piles and retaining walls which were constructed for Yeni (Abdürrezzak Antaki) Mosque restoration and Camili Köyü Mosque restoration, respectively, are modelled by using the finite element program PLAXIS. In conclusion, it is ascertained that jet grout method can be employed safely as a soil improvement technique for the foundations of historical structures, if the injection pressure is controlled continuously during the applications.
