Abstract (EN)

Following the dissolution of the SSCB in the early 1990s, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan declared their independence. This created a new opportunity for Turkey; created the opportunity to develop political and commercial relations with related countries. Kyrgyzstan, in which the agricultural sector has an important place in its economy, is the country with the lowest foreign trade volume with Turkey among the countries of the Turkic World. The determination of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey's mutual superiority in agricultural products, and the implementation of effective policies will thereby promote an increase in the volume of foreign trade between the two countries. The purpose of this study is to identify the existing commercial relations between the two countries and to identify mutual advantages within the context of agricultural products in this context. In the study covering the period of 2010 to 2019, the comparative advantages of Turkey and Kyrgyzstan in the agricultural sector were explained. Using 56 subgroups of agricultural products whose foreign trade data could be accessed, five index values (RCA, RXA, RMA, RC, and 〖∆NRCA〗_j^(1-2)) were calculated, and results were interpreted over the period averages. Within the framework of the analysis findings of the RCA and RXA indexes, Turkey has a comparative advantage in 24 products, whereas Kyrgyzstan has a comparative advantage in 22 products, according to the RCA and RXA indexes. According to the RMA index, while Turkey is in an advantageous position in 44 products, this figure is 36 for Kyrgyzstan. According to the RC index, Turkey has a comparative advantage in the international market in 31 products, while Kyrgyzstan has a comparative advantage in 16 products. Turkey has a comparative advantage Kyrgyzstan over in 31 out of 56 product categories, according to the 〖∆NRCA〗_j^(1-2) index. A foreign trade process that will be shaped especially by taking into account the mutual superiority of the countries will contribute to the increase in the foreign trade volume of the two related countries.
